A series of workshops and meetings are being planned to step up tourism in the destination. A five day December roadshow covered Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Kochi.
India is being regarded as one of the biggest market and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority is working on promotional tours throughout the year to attract more Indian tourists to the destination.
Prominent tourism projects are coming up in the emirates such as the Sharjah Water Festival and World Championship Formula 1 Grand Prix and Aqua Bike championships which help in drawing the attention of Indian tourists.
Sharjah attracted more than 135,000 tourists from India in 2014, recording a 23 per cent increase compared to 2013.
There are a number of residents from India who take their families for visits in Sharjah. With a rich blend of the classic and modern the destination will always cast its charm on Indian travellers.
