Tim Shattock will join bmi in the newly created role of managing director that will be based out of the airline’s East Midland’s head office.
Shattock will be a part of the restructured executive team and report directly to group chief executive of Airline Investments, Peter Simpson.
He holds 30 years of aviation experience and most recently worked as the managing director for Babcock Mission Critical Services in Gloucester, the UK’s largest operator of Air Ambulance aircraft.
He will be heading a team of more than 400 staff members with the chief financial officer, chief commercial officer, operational directors and head of human resources.
Simpson was delighted to welcome Tim to the team when they are restructure the bmi executive team to replicate the structure similar to their sister airline, Loganair.
They aim to drive bmi forward, engage with new markets and transition through Brexit.
The new role will provide a greater bandwidth to focus on the immediate challenges ahead while working with the bmi team.
It will further develop and unlock the many opportunities solid foundation that has been created over the last couple of years.
