Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Launches New Original Content Series “Rival Town Rundowns” on MLB.com

SHERATON HOTELS & RESORTSIn celebration of its partnership with Major League Baseball® (MLB®), Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, today announced a new original content series Rival Town Rundowns onMLB.com that will give baseball fans an unprecedented perspective on travel through tips from their favorite pros visiting a ‘rival’ city. From San Francisco to New York, some of MLB’s biggest stars will divulge their favorite spots to eat, drink and visit when traveling to rival cities. To give baseball enthusiasts a chance to get in on the action, Sheraton is also announcing the Rival Town Rundowns contest where fans can either nominate someone or submit their own story of why they deserve to win the trip of a lifetime to see five of the hottest rivalry games in MLB this year.

With millions of baseball fans traveling every season to see their favorite team play in away games, Rival Town Rundowns seeks to give these travelers the quick and easy run-down on what to do and where to go while staying in “foreign territory.” A five-part video series that will roll-out over the course of the baseball season on MLB.com, Rival Town Rundowns will be hosted by ESPN broadcaster Jessica Mendoza and feature the following rival city spotlights:

Sheraton: The Official Hotel of Major League Baseball

Last year, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Preferred Guest® (SPG®) announced a new exclusive partnership with Major League Baseball® (MLB®), designating Sheraton as the “Official Hotel of Major League Baseball” and SPG as the “Official Hotel Loyalty Program of Major League Baseball.” Sheraton now provides guests with complimentary access to MLB.TV during their stays. MLB.TV is the longest-running and most widely distributed live streaming service in all of sports, enabling out-of-market fans to watch every game live. Sheraton has also added MLB Network as a new in-room entertainment channel, giving fans access to games, highlights and analysis wherever they travel. Fans are able to book their hotel stays from a Sheraton booking widget located on select teams’ schedule pages.
