The Meghji Group signed a 15-year agreement with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide to manage and run their property under their global brand Sheraton. Attorney General and Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the Meghji group is leading the way for local businesses by becoming one of the first Fijian companies to buy a five-star resort.
The property was ruined by Cyclone Evan last December and is presently undergoing major renovations before it opens next April featuring more than a hundred rooms.
A $35 million investment the tourism industry will see the birth of the country’s latest five-star resort. The resort will be known as the Sheraton Fiji Resort and Spa, Tokoriki Island and will be Sheraton’s forth property in Fiji.
