People often come home to empty refrigerators after a holiday or business trip. Starting now, Austrian Airlines and BILLA are cooperating to make sure this does not happen again. Passengers underway on a short- or medium-haul flight deploying one of the airline’s A320F aircraft can place their orders “above the clouds” via Austrian FlyNet. They can then conveniently pick up their goods in a BILLA store, for example at Vienna Airport, or have the items delivered to their home address. The passengers can select their desired pick-up or delivery period. In May, this service is possible on about 5,000 flights.
Effective immediately, the BILLA Online Shop is accessible at no cost in the FlyNet of Austrian Airlines and can be used by all passengers. The goods will either be delivered directly to their homes, or the passenger can decide to pick up the items in one of BILLA’s 60 Click & Collect stores throughout Austria, one of which is located at Vienna Airport. Passengers on FlyNet can take advantage of a special opening offer featuring a 10 Euro voucher for the BILLA Online Shop, as well as one Miles & More bonus mile for every euro of sales. Elke Wilgmann, Member of the Management Board of BILLA, says, “This cooperation with Austrian Airlines is fully consistent with our customer service. For us, convenient shopping which makes the everyday lives of people easier is of paramount importance. By enabling people to shop high above the clouds, we are putting this into practice in an extraordinary way”. Customers of both companies benefit in many ways from the collaboration of Austrian Airlines and BILLA, which Austrian Airlines CCO Andreas Otto confirms: “Our passengers surf at an altitude of 10,000 meters on the Austrian FlyNet. This cooperation takes us a step further to exploit the advantages of digitization in order to provide our customers with even better service.”
Surf above the clouds with the Austrian FlyNet
Austrian Airlines has been offering Internet on board flights of its Airbus fleet since the year 2017. The FlyNet portal is available during the entire flight. Surfing is possible when the plane reaches its cruising altitude. Moreover, Austria’s home carrier offers three different packages: Austrian FlyNet MESSAGE, Austrian FlyNet SURF and Austrian FlyNet STREAM. Passengers can also discover the CleverTogether Community free of charge via the FlyNet portal. There passengers will find travel tips submitted by other passengers and the CleverTogether Quiz.
Order food conveniently in the BILLA Online Shop
BILLA has been operating the BILLA Online Shop, Austria’s largest online supermarket, since 1999. Orders will be delivered customer’s front door or can be picked up from one of the 60 Click & Collect stores throughout Austria. The entire product range is available in the BILLA Online Shop. Orders to the BILLA Online Shop can be placed up to ten days in advance.
