The cruise ship had returned safely to port and the passengers were all enjoying the onboard facilities till they disembarked.
A broken fuel pump is the culprit behind the cancellation and this is a problem related to the recent refurbishment of Silver Cloud.
The replacement parts are being flown in from Europe to Puerto Madryn where the cruise ship is now docked. According to the official Silversea statement, the next cruise of Silver Cloud would be departing Ushuaia on 1st December.
All passengers would receive a complete reimbursement of their cruise fare and airfare that have already been paid, new flights and a 25% discount on a future cruise.
A leading news media platform on cruise industry reported that passengers were dealing with the disappointment well.
It went on to add that Silversea has stepped in and taken ownership of the problem. Conrad Combrink, Senior Vice President Strategic Development Expeditions and Experiences is onboard and delivering the latest news to passengers personally.
