Sita Air plane makes emergency landing at Phaplu airport

Sita Air.jpgAn airplane of Sita Air that was travelling to Lukla airport had to make emergency landing at Phaplu airport on Sunday, narrowly escaping a major accident by a stroke of luck.

 

There are no reports of injuries due to this major emergency landing.

 

But then, this aircraft of Sita Air has sustained minor damage following the abrupt landing. The aircraft that had a call sign 9 NHR that took off from Kathmandu was forced to make an emergency landing at Phaplu airport because of unfavorable climatic conditions.

 

There were 17 people on board the flight as well as three crew members on board this flight of Sita Air.

 

The District Police Office stated that Solukhumbu, the wing of the aircraft was cracked after it hit the wall of the airport while approaching the emergency landing around 8.00 a.m.

 

Madhav Prasad Budhakoti, who is the Deputy Superintendent of Police said that 12 passengers out of the total 17 were foreigners.
