Acting Minister for Tourism and Major Events Philip Dalidakis today launched Toyota’s Slide the Square, which will be open 10am to 8pm daily until 15 January 2017.

Organised by Federation Square in association with Slide Melbourne, the water used for the slide will also be recycled into tanks to water the Square’s garden.

Toyota’s Slide the Square is part of the ‘Summer in Fed Square’ initiative supported by the Andrews Labor Government, running a series of attractions for visitors and locals to enjoy in the heart of Melbourne over the summer holiday period.

With a full program of music, films, cultural festivals, exhibitions, design markets and much more, Federation Square will continue to be a hive of activity throughout January in the lead up to the 2017 Australian Open where more than 700,000 attendees are expected.

Initiatives such as the Summer in Fed Square series and a booming major events calendar that runs state-wide is what makes Victoria Australia’s events capital and further strengthens Melbourne’s reputation as the world’s most liveable city.

Tickets to Toyota’s Slide the Square can be purchased online via Ticketmaster or from the ticket booth at the Swanston Street Forecourt in Federation Square.
