Smoke at plane’s rear prompts emergency landing of JetBlue

JetblueYesterday, an aircraft of JetBlue was forced to go for an emergency landing after smoke was detected emanating from the rear portion of the plane.


This JetBlue flight was heading for St. Lucia with over 200 passengers. The incident caused the authorities of the airplane to divert it to Bermuda. The emergency landing was made at the airport of the island of Bermuda.


An official spokeswoman for the Bermuda Fire & Rescue service said that the Airbus A320 was carrying 202 passengers and luckily it was able to make a perfectly safe emergency landing in Bermuda around 12.15 p.m.


She went on to add that the BFRS personnel dressed in breathing apparatus had carried out a thorough search of the airbus compartment equipped with thermal imaging equipment prior to ensuring that the situation is dealt with cautiously by the airline representatives.
