SnapTravel, an automated chatbot service raises $8 million by giving the services of hotel booking worldwide. The customers can book the hotel room simply by using Snap Travels via SMS texts and Facebook Messengers. SnapTravel concentrates on the chat works providing all the information regarding hotels and the accommodations.
The $8 million Series A round was led by iNovia Capital, a backer of Luxury Retreats which just exited to Airbnb for around $200 million.
The round also included the contribution from seed round investors Lightbank, Bee Partners, and Hedgewood, along with strategic investor and Expedia board member Peter Kern, among others.
iNovia’s Chris Arsenault is joining the board of SnapTravel with the close of the round.
Snap Travel began its journey from the year 2016 by tech entrepreneurs Hussein Fazal, whose prior company AdParlor grew to $100+ million in revenue, then sold to AdKnowledge back in 2011; and Henry Shi, who previously built uMentioned and worked at Google, where he helped launch YouTube Music Insights.
In this market, there are many chatbot app that helps in having booking information of the hotels, but SnapTravel offers the close assistance to its customers. The chatbot not only provide the hotel information, but also inform travellers the best time to visit, the best places, the weather conditions and flight information.
Previously in February, this chatbot company gave many discounts and the offers to its customers. The half-bot, half-human service goes back and forth with its users about the city that they are travelling to, the dates, and their budget to offer them with the best hotel options all over the world.
