Sold out inaugural ICCA Association Meetings Programme connects associations with suppliers

iccaThe Association Meetings Programme (AMP) is ICCA’s new annual event, where ICCA members and international association executives learn from each other and from a top faculty of experts about key aspects of bidding and decision-making, organising, promoting, and designing international association meetings. The AMP replaces ICCA’s long-standing Research, Sales and Marketing Programme (RSMP), which had only been open to ICCA member delegates.

 

ICCA caps the AMP to 150 participants to enable the delivery of highly personalised sessions and advice to every attendee. The event contains many practical hands-on workshops and one-on-one meetings with faculty.

 

ICCA CEO Martin Sirk said: “A key element of ICCA’s new Strategic Plan is to bring international associations more meaningfully into our community, and the inaugural AMP is just one small contribution towards this goal. Not only were associations present as delegates, they played a major role in designing and delivering the content, assuring its relevance and topicality”.

Per Morten Haarr, Convention Director at the Stavanger Convention Bureau said: “Stavanger hosted the first ICCA AMP as part of our strategy to attract more association meetings. Stavanger has invested in new infrastructure and facilities, and has ambitions to become a major player in the international association meetings market. With the success of the AMP, we now have several new ambassadors in the international meetings industry, and some new and exciting projects to start working on!”

 

AMP 2017 goes to Fukuoka, Japan
At the closing session, ICCA anounced that its Board of Directors has chosen Fukuoka, Japan as the 2017 Association Meetings Programme destination.

 

ICCA’s new AMP will rotate between a European and another destination anywhere in the world every other year.

 

The ICCA AMP 2017 will take place 29 June to 1 July with a fresh programme and speakers, and will be capped again to maximum 150 participants.

 

Getting closer to associations
As part of ICCA’s new strategy to get closer to the international association community, associations will also be invited to ICCA’s annual Congress, taking place 13-16 november 2016 in Kuching, Malaysia. This year’s event is well on track to attract over 800 delegates.
