At the Tourism Fair Autumn Edition which will be starting from tomorrow, 17th Nov, South African Embassy in Bucharest at stall no. 5 will be present to welcome guests and visitors. The fair will continue till 20th Nov. The opening of the fair will be attended Mrs.Thenjiwe Mtintso, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Romania at 11.00 hours.
She will attend the media professionals and representatives from 11.00 till 15.00. To quote the ambassador, ‘South Africa is a vibrant melting pot for tourism: the diverse cultures, customs and traditions of our people, merged with the endless variety of our landscapes, blended with our unique biodiversity, and fired by the spirit of freedom and equality’.
As per Tourism and Migration Report released by Statistics South Africa, 2015 alone witnessed 23.4 percent increase in average number of tourists visiting the continent. To quote Tourism Minister Hanekom, ‘the world’s tourists want what we have: authentic, meaningful experiences. They still want leisure, wildlife and adventure, and they continue to come to South Africa for this.
But, more and more, tourists want to meet real people in their homes and communities as they want a taste of local traditions and customs’. Cape Town was voted the second best city in the world to be visited in 2017. Besides, wildlife and its wilderness local wines, cage diving, safaris, bungee jumping, canoeing kayaking, rafting, paragliding and hot air ballooning are the added attractions of Africa!
