Music fans and would-be musicians attending this year’s South-by-Southwest Interactive, Film and Music Festival will find a packed playlist of things to see and do at Four Seasons Hotel Austin, from loaner guitars to intimate live music broadcasts on the banks of Lady Bird Lake.
Guitar Concierge Program
Visitors can strum, riff and dog ear to their heart’s content throughout the “Live Music Capital of the World” as part of the Hotel’s exclusive Taylor Guitars Concierge program, featuring complimentary guitars that are available for guest use. Offered in partnership with Taylor Guitars, the industry’s premiere maker of acoustic guitars, the program has proved popular since its debut in November 2016 and is expected to really hit its groove during South-by-Southwest as music lovers converge in Austin.
KUTX Live Music Broadcasts
For more than a decade, locals have gotten their festival fix (for a fraction of the cost) at early morning broadcasts hosted by Four Seasons Hotel Austin and local radio station KUTX 98.9.
The annual four-day event, which is held in an intimate ballroom-turned-lounge setting, features 20 to 25 minute sets and interviews with 16 of the festival’s most anticipated performers. This year’s broadcasts take place Wednesday, March 15 through Saturday, March 18 with live music from 7:00 to 11:00 am daily .
Admission is USD 10 per person and includes a complimentary breakfast taco and bottomless coffee. All event proceeds benefit the Seton Shivers Cancer Center, a local non-profit dedicated to cancer research and treatment in Central Texas.
The Place to “See and Be Seen”
Located in the heart of downtown within walking distance of most festival venues, Austin’s Four Seasons is the unofficial headquarters for those looking to see and be seen at South-by-Southwest.
From the stylish Lobby Lounge bar, rumored to be the site of some of Interactive’s most lucrative venture capital deals, to the picturesque back lawn, an oasis from the SXSW hustle-and-bustle with its shaded green lawns and comfy Adirondack chairs, the Hotel is the preferred social gathering spot for digital influencers, celebrities and musicians, as well as festival-goers.
