Cartoons come alive at this South Korea cafe

Coffee lovers have a new destination in South Korea. The recently opened “Café Yeonnam-dong 239-20” in Seol is drawing visitors for its interiors. One feels like entering the world of cartoons at this café. The walls of the café are adorned with cartoons in monochrome designs. The design is inspired by the famous Korean TV news W by Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-Joo. The show revolves around the clash between two worlds-the real worlds and the fantasy world.

The café’s designs create a 2D illusion which makes one feel that they have entered some comic world. One is greeted with black and white comic strip furniture, walls, and floors at the entrance while the mugs, dishes and cutlery resemble flat line drawings. The 20-seater café has recently garnered a lot of attraction. The café is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 11 am to 9 pm. Its menu is concise and Lattes are among one of its highlights. If you are in South Korea, you should not miss out the opportunity of visiting the Dreamy Camera Café, which is located six miles east of Seol. The café opened its door in 2013. While from outside the café looks like a TLR Rolleiflex Camera but inside it is a two-storey café house. The best part is that the café has a vintage camera museum also. The vintage camera museum has vintage cameras and Rollei’s Park Sung Hwan, a former helicopter pilot for the South Korean airforce runs the café with his wife Kwak Myung-hee (also a retired pilot). People who visit the café find some interesting things such as their photos are clicked. After taking the photo of visitors, they are printed out on instant films and visitors are also encouraged to record their dreams in few words on the picture’s border.
