The hidden gems of the South West are being brought to the international stage with leading destinations uniting to offer corporate event organisers a plethora of previously undiscovered spaces for business events, meetings and incentive travel.
As one of the most diverse and thriving regions in the UK, the new initiative will showcase South West England’s unique product offering and demonstrate the accessibility of the region from major transport hubs. Supported by the South West Tourism Growth Fund, those involved include Bristol, Bournemouth, English Riviera, Exeter and Somerset, all of whom will all be attending IMEX in Frankfurt later this month as an introductory platform to the international arena, as well as Bath, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Kathryn Davis, Head of Tourism for Destination Bristol comments, “The South West has an abundance of unique offerings just waiting to be discovered. Our aim is to not only demonstrate the potential of the region as an ideal destination for business events, meetings and incentive travel, but to also show an alternative way of hosting these types of events outside of the traditional offerings.”
Whether it’s setting up Tipis in country fields for conferences, using a train carriage whilst travelling through some of the most amazing countryside or hosting breakout opportunities in a hot air balloon or prehistoric cave, the South West will undoubtedly help delegates see things from a new perspective and leave with unforgettable memories.
This comes as the South West is unveiling plans to launch 10 new attractions, hotels and experiences across the next 12 months including Ashton Gate Stadium conference and exhibition space.
