A yellow alert had been issued on Tuesday at the Oakland International Airport around 7.02 a.m. immediately after a flight of Southwest Airlines that was on its way to the airport had encountered a blown tire that prompted an emergency landing.
Thereafter, the aircraft was able to make a perfectly safe landing around 7.20 a.m.
Then, it was towed to the gate if the airport. There were certain minor delays on account of this emergency landing. Some of the flights had to be re-routed to the North Field of the airport.
Then, the runway was reopened within 7.50 a.m. And, very soon, the operations of the airport returned to normal.
