Southwest Airlines flights to/from Houston Hobby (HOU) have currently been suspended through Wednesday, Aug. 30, as we continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Harvey. Southwest flew to Dallas Love Field on Sunday nearly 500 people who were in the HOU airport when a significant band of rain came through, preventing continued operations. Southwest on Monday moved any remaining aircraft from HOU by the end of the day.
Due to the disruptions, we encourage Customers to check their flight status via southwest.com or our mobile app prior to heading to the airport. A Customer travel advisory offering added flexibility to flight changes for Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston-Hobby, and San Antonio is in effect through Friday, September 1. A travel advisory is in effect through Tuesday for Harlingen. As always, our main focus is the safety of our Customers and Employees while making sure our flights operate safely to their destinations. We appreciate our Customers’ patience as we continue to work through the storms.
We are in contact with emergency management officials and have offered our assistance. Our hearts are with our Customers and Employees in South Texas affected by the hurricane and subsequent flooding.
