Southwest Airlines makes emergency landing due to operational reasons

southwestA Southwest Airlines flight from San Antonio, Texas, to Orlando made an emergency landing on Monday night after a pressurization problem had cropped up, according to the airline.


The flight took off about 7:30 p.m. Texas time, about 90 minutes late, and landed about 11:30 p.m. Florida time in Jacksonville.


None of the 133 passengers was injured. One of the passengers on the plane gave  photos from inside the cabin, showing oxygen masks being deployed.


The aircraft was taken out of service for inspection, the airline said.


The passengers, who had departed San Antonio about 90 minutes late, ultimately arrived in Orlando about four hours behind schedule.


Southwest apologized for the delay. Passengers will be given flight vouchers to apply towards their next trip, according to the airline.


The airline said in a statement that, the plane landed and was taxied to a gate under its own power, While all the customers waited inside the airport and employees assisted them with affected travel plans, another aircraft was brought in to minimize their delay and sent them to Orlando.
