Charles Bombardier who is the design boss of a company named Imaginative Design in collaboration with Ray Mattison has dreamt of creating a unique transportation system, the ‘lunar Cycle’. This has been created by implementing the interspace technology.
The design has been introduced by fusing the hardware elements of companies including SpaceX, Masten Space Systems and Bigelow Aerospace.
This truly makes the vehicle a very special appearance. It would constantly cycle between the earth and the moon and there the name ‘Cycler’ has been offered to it.
There are three bubble-like segments towards the front of the Cycler that has the inflatable B330 modules of Bigelow. They have been linked to offer space for sleeping quarter for about a dozen tourist passengers in the front one. Also, a dining area and an open lounge has been created in the second one and crew’s quarters are provided in the third segment.
The slim 100-foot section that is behind the Bigelow modules is a cargo bay that loads materials brought up from the earth in order to go to the moon utilizing the Canadarm 2, similar to the SpaceX Dragon capsules used by the International Space Station.
Two Dragons would be docked on the Cycler to act as command centers and emergency escape vehicles.
The rocket of SpaceX Falcon Heavy would launch payloads from the earth to meet with the Cycler as it circles in the earth, preparing for a trip to the moon.
No timetable has been provided but then the B330 would still require further testing prior to being utilized.
Therefore, though this concept might not be entirely possible as of now, yet it is actually a very practical proposal for the near future.
