The latest data brings the total tourist visits to Spain in the initial half of 2017 to 46.9 million people as reported by the local news agency. Tourists from the UK actually led the ranks, comprising about 22.1% of the total number of foreign holidaymakers who opted for Spain as their summer destination.
More than 10 million Britons had head for Spain in the initial six months of this year followed by Germans, 6.8 million of whom had visited in that point of time.
The region of California is the most flourishing.
It is here that the culture-hub of Barcelona is situated. This spot has been proved to be the most favored by international tourists to Spain and had embraced over 2.5 million visitors in July 2017 that accounts for 24.3% of the total number and also a 6.5% uptick year-on-year.
The Balearic Islands region followed closely behind with a 23.6% overall share.
On the other hand, the third most sought-after choice for foreign tourists has been the sun-kissed southern area of Andalusia that is home to various cities like Malaga, Cordoba, Cadiz, Marbella, Granada and Seville.
