SWISS teamed up with the Patrouille Suisse, the Swiss Air Force’s display team, today to offer a spectacular air show to Lauberhorn fans between the combination downhill and slalom races. The air show featured another SWISS first: the début of the Bombardier CS300 in such flypast activities. The aircraft in question is the first CS300 that was delivered to SWISS: HB-JCA, which is dedicated to the people of Western Switzerland and carries a special “Romandie” livery.
The special livery was devised by Western Swiss artist Fichtre (Mathias Forbach) based on input from the residents of French-speaking Switzerland, and is a homage to the region, its culture, its character and its people. Weather permitting, a further SWISS/Patrouille Suisse air show featuring the Bombardier CS300 against the spectacular backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks is planned for tomorrow (Saturday 13 January) just before the downhill Lauberhorn event.
