Speyer, birthplace of pinot gris (“grauburgunder” in German) and the location of the world’s first wine museum will be host to the “Wine at the Cathedral” fair again on April 1-2nd, 2017. The fair is intended to serve as the wine forum of the Palatinate.
Wine-growers and associations will present their products to the public at four venues located around the Cathedral. Examples include the Association of German Wine Estates of Distinction, the Palatine Barrique Forum (red wines), Vinissima, Ecovin, Bioland, Young Men of the Palatinate, as well as the State Agriculture Department.
Many individual wineries that do not belong to one of the associations will also be represented.
This fair is a must for wine connoisseurs because as such variety of wine has never before been shown in Germany’s second largest wine-producing region. Visitors can also avail guided tours of the fair.
