Spirit Airlines is leveraging on an interesting celestial event with an aim to sell more plane tickers in the period leading up to 21st August, 2017 hat is the date of the first total solar eclipse to pass through the United States ever since 1979.
The airline is ready to offer discounted fares ranging from $50 to $90 round trip for customers booking tickets by 11.59 a.m. Wednesday to fly to three cities close to the path of the total solar eclipse including Kansas City, Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Portland, Ore.
Skygazers from across the world have been planning trips to the 70-mile stretch of the nation where the solar eclipse might be witnessed in all its transcendental glory.
The path of total solar eclipse would run through portions of 14 states right from Oregon to South Carolina from 21st August, 2017. And, it would be lasting from 2 minutes to 2 minutes 40 seconds, depending on the place.
If one is flying out of Detroit Metro Airport, the company provides the sale prices to only one of the three cities before the eclipse and that is Kansas City.
If somebody is a member of Spirit’s $99 fare club, he would be able to fly to Kansas City for $27.19 each way or a $54.38 round trip.
Travellers eager to buy a flight to any of these three cities, they would be required to drive about an hour south of Portland to be located in the path of totality and a few miles south of Myrtle Beach to view it in its complete glory.
