The Sri Lankan tourism bureau has authorized a delegation of over fifty Sri Lankan representatives to host Australian travel agents, tour operators and media for dinner along with networking as the government is all set to develop arrivals from Australia.
This declaration has come at a time when Sri Lanka as a vacation spot has been gaining impetus in the consumer press with keen interest gradually developing among consumers worldwide.
For the meantime, wholesalers are now advertizing Sri Lanka as a destination to watch.
From 20th November in Perth, 23 November in Melbourne and 27 November in Sydney, the roadshows have been scheduled. Director of Marketing, Madubhani Perera said, “We are very excited to increase our promotional efforts in Australia and engage the Australian travel industry to help demonstrate to consumers the wonders of Sri Lanka.”
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman Udaya Nanayakkara added, “Sri Lanka Tourism engaged in a similar promotion last year in Australia and with the introduction of direct daily flights by Sri Lankan Airlines to Melbourne this year, we need our presence with the travel trade on a continuous basis. With proceedings beginning at 5.30pm the evenings will see attendees treated with Sri Lankan food and drinks and a networking sessions with exhibitors.”
