Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. announced today Stacy Cozad will join the company Jan. 4, 2016, as senior vice president and general counsel, reporting to Larry Lawson, president and chief executive officer.
Cozad brings deep experience in commercial aerospace and corporate litigation, having held leadership positions of increasing responsibility at Southwest Airlines since 2006. Prior to Southwest, Cozad was an associate and partner in private law practices, working on high-profile litigation cases. As Spirit’s general counsel, Cozad will have responsibility for oversight of all legal matters across the global enterprise.
“Stacy brings expertise across a broad spectrum of the legal arena, and is a wonderful addition to our leadership team,” said Lawson. “Her commercial aviation background is a natural complement to Spirit’s business, and I’m confident Stacy will add great value as we continue driving Spirit’s transformation.”
“I have experienced firsthand the quality and innovation that Spirit provides to the aviation industry,” Cozad said. “I am excited to join the Spirit team and contribute to the company’s ongoing journey of growth and profitability.”
Cozad earned a bachelor of arts in behavioral science from Concordia University Texas and her juris doctor from Pepperdine University.
