A new Bears Ears National Monument will get a major promotion in a Utah state website as confirmed by the officials this Monday. Though, this move has been canceled by the governor and other leaders. A resolution earlier this month has been signed by Republican Gov. Gary Herbert from the Legislature requesting Trump to annul the designation made by President Barack Obama during his final days in White House.
U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch and other Utah’s congressional delegates are pressurizing Trump on the issue. All they want to see that the lands in southeastern Utah are utilized for various developmental works like drilling and mining.
This is being seen as a major threat by the outdoors industry. These days state was already promoting some of the main natural attractions and features online. Currently, a full webpage of the tourism office, dedicated solely to the 1.35-million-acre national monuments, along with subpages highlighting its various features is present. The monuments in the website have been described as magnificent! At the same time readers have been warned that without the services at national parks, landscape is rugged, wild and remote.
