Steve Griffiths joins as chief operating officer at Stansted Airport

steveLondon Stansted Airport has appointed Steve Griffiths has been appointed chief operating officer.

 

 

 

In his recent role he served as the chief operating officer for the London Underground at Transport for London and prior to this was the chief operating officer for Virgin Atlantic Airways.

 

 

He will be taking care of the day to day leadership of the airport at a time when it is undertaking the biggest ever capital program. He will be joining on October 15th and will be reporting to Ken O’Toole, chief executive of London Stansted Airport.

 

 

 

O’Toole stated that Steve joins Stansted at the most exciting period  and recently they embarked on a transformational £600 million construction programme and will  continue to attract new airlines, and support the growth of existing partners. This will help in serving the vibrant London market and burgeoning eastern England region.

 

 

Steve is well experienced in customer service, safety, operational excellence along with the management of diverse stakeholder relationships.

 

 

He will further help in facilitating the building of great foundation at Stansted.

 

 

Griffiths was excited to join London Stansted and was looking forward to working with Ken and the team to drive the business and bring in a seamless and enjoyable experience possible in the airport.

 

 

He said that Stansted has a good potential and he will try to work with the partners and stakeholders across the airport. He wants to enable Stansted to continue to be the fastest growing airport in London over the next ten years.
