A recent study suggested that in entire World, Europe offers the most pocket friendly holiday options to the travellers from the United Kingdom. The study was conducted by the foreign currency seller ‘Post Office Travel Money’, which compared various travel costs like three-course meal, coffee, necessary toiletries etc in 44 places from around the globe.
The study found that seven of the cheapest travel destinations were spread across Europe. Algarve in Portugal seized the top spot for being the most economic travel destination for the UK visitors. Apart from Algarve, the Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, Costa del Sol in Spain, Marmaris in Turkey and Prague in Czech Republic were found to be the most economic travel destinations for the UK travellers to explore.
According to the annual holiday money report, Tokyo in Japan was the only long haul destination that made it to the list of top ten most economic destinations. The Japanese capital received the eighth place on the list, where South Africa’s Cape Town bagged the 11th place, Cancun in Mexico received the 12th place and Indonesia’s Bali received the 13th position.
According to Andrew Brown of Post Office Travel Money, holidaymakers can do little about sterling’s value but they can do their homework and plan trips to resorts or cities where prices for meals, drinks and other tourist staples are low.
He also added that Europe is looking unbeatable value with nine of this year’s 10 cheapest destinations, not to mention local price falls in half the European resorts and cities that they surveyed. Brown informed that Tokyo and Cancun are good bets for bargain hunters as well.
According to the figures, Dubai is the most expensive holiday destination in the world, followed by Caribbean island of Antigua and Washington D.C. in the US.
