Amtrak Hiawatha Service passengers can make more evening plans for dinner, a show, shopping, and sporting events on Saturday nights through the Labor Day weekend. Late night trips between Chicago and Milwaukee will be offered from May 21 through Sept. 3, 2016. The attached schedule shows the addition of Train 343, departing from Chicago at 11:10 p.m., and Train 344, departing from Milwaukee at 10:40 p.m.
Amtrak Hiawatha Service trains are jointly sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the Illinois Department of Transportation. About 800,000 passengers rode in the last year, including intermediate stops at Glenview, Ill., and in Wisconsin at Sturtevant and Milwaukee Airport. Nationally, it is one of the top six Amtrak routes.
Amtrak eTicketing, printing of boarding documents at Quik-Trakkiosks and advance purchase are encouraged, but passengers can be ticketed on board without penalty since ticket windows are closed in the late evening. Trains 329 & 330 will operate only on weekdays during this schedule. For more information, see the attached schedule or visit Amtrak.com/Hiawatha-train.
This is the third improvement in Hiawathas Service since April, following the exciting announcements of trainside checked bicycles and carriage of passengers with small pets. Also, kids ride free this summer on Hiawatha trains on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
