At this year’s IMEX Frankfurt, which is going to start from May 16-18 in Germany, 16 of its MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) tourist destinations will be promoted by Indonesia.
Assistant Deputy of European, Middle Eastern, American and African Market Development of the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar), Mr. Nia Niscaya also highlighted on Thursday that as many as 16 MICE flagship destinations in Indonesia would be promoted during the said event.
To quote Niscaya, ‘Indonesia is increasingly being considered as a MICE destination in the world. Indonesia offers complete themes and facilities at the centre of the city and islands resorts set in the background of culture and natural beauty, all of international service standards, at 16 MICE flagship destinations.’ 16 well-known MICE destinations of Indonesia will be highlighted at the event, like Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Medan, Batam, Padang, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Makassar, Manado, Solo, Lombok, Bintan, Palembang, and Balikpapan respectively. Besides, hotels which are some of the A-listers in Indonesia and known all over the world have also been included, as they are ideal to be the best-performing international event organizer.
To quote Mr. Nia Niscaya, ‘In IMEX Frankfurt 2017, Indonesia will involve 16 MICE industry players, including three convention halls, hotels, DMCs (Destination Management Companies) and tour operators that will facilitate not just MICE events but also leisure and support programs.’
