10 million Thai touristsThe survey that had featured insights from over 600 adult travellers in Thailand discovered that Thai visitors are the most frequent backpackers in the region with an average 10.1 flights per year, followed by Indians and Japanese.

Conducted on behalf of Brand Expedia by Northstar, the study also indicated that while traveling is normally enjoyable, irritating encounters with annoying co-travellers are likely to ruin positive vibes of a travel experience.

This survey was conducted online from 22nd February to 19th March, 2018 across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and South America utilizing an amalgamated group of best-in-class panels from across 23 nations.

On average, Thais take five one-way flights per year with personal flights accounting for two-thirds of these flights and another third flying for business.

Business travel is particularly high in Thailand, India and Japan. Economy class travel continues to prosper for personal trips though US and Thai business tourists are more inclined to travel in premium economy.

Most travellers continue to prefer a boarding pass with nearly 47% using print only and 32% using a combination of both print and mobile boarding passes while 21% use a mobile device.

Thailand leads the way in opting for mobile-only boarding passes.

When it comes to passing a sleeping passenger, nearly 42% state that they would wake them ask them to move, 20% stated they would climb over with their back to them while facing them and 23% would just tend to wait.

Travellers in Asian markets tend to be more inclined to wake them and Thailand had scored high with 59%.

Annoying passengers are the seat kicker/bumper/grabber, followed by the “Aromatic Passenger”, the Inattentive Parent, Personal Space Violator and the Audio Insensitive.
