Sustainable tourism is important for Panhandle

Sustainable tourismOne of the biggest factors affecting world tourism in coming years would be over tourism. We’ve seen the 300,000 residents of Iceland struggling with 3 million tourists a year.

Same applies with Venice. Many areas have been forced to restrict tourist numbers for avoiding destruction to certain world heritage sites.

Sustainable tourism is the need of the hour. It is a positive experience for locals and tourists while helping to generate future employment and economic benefits. However, no one can suggest that tourism to Northwest Florida is really destroying local culture.

The continued success of Florida’s largest fishing fleet is largely due to tourism. The solution is actually tourism management. The local government must continue to develop traffic management plans, adequate and convenient parking, and alternative transportation. Sustainable tourism is essential for Panhandle.
