Glion Institute of Higher Education and Les Roches International School of Hotel Management have been ranked among the top three hospitality schools for students aspiring for an international career in hospitality management in a recent survey. Les Roches and Glion are both members of the Laureate International Universities network.
The 2013 survey was conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) Travel & Tourism (U.K.), the world’s largest provider of custom research and analysis. The survey included a large section of hiring managers from luxury international hospitality companies around the world, and it asserted the relative “ranking” of international hospitality management schools providing university-level degree programs.
The survey was conducted in spring and summer 2013, and included invitations to more than 50,000 hoteliers in 80 countries. Laureate Hospitality Education, a division of Laureate Education Inc., appointed TNS to conduct the survey. The survey results can be relied statistically at a 95% confidence level as similar results were obtained in a global industry survey conducted in 2010 by TNS.
Michael Huckaby, interim CEO of Glion said, “Glion continues to lead the world in providing the highest-quality international hospitality management education. The goal of top international hospitality management schools is to prepare managers to compete successfully in a rapidly changing world. This survey, like a similar one in 2010, confirms that the hospitality industry understands and appreciates the unique nature of our education model, which combines practical instruction with academic study at different campuses and in professional internships abroad.”
The survey showed, 56% of industry managers prefer graduates who have trained in more than a single countrywhich is one of the strengths of the programs at Glion and Les Roches. Les Roches’curriculum gives students the opportunity to study at campuses inSpain,ChinaandJordan. “Our newLes Rochesglobal bachelor’s degree and its internship component provide students with up to five destinations during their studies, which is unique for programs in hospitality management,” saidSonia Tatar, CEO ofLes Rochesworldwide.
