Swissport Saudi Arabia, (a subsidiary of Swissport International; the world’s leading provider of ground and air cargo services to the aviation industry), has commenced ground handling services for Scoot. Scoot is a low-cost carrier based in Singapore and a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, with three weekly flights from Singapore to Jeddah.
Swissport will provide Scoot with comprehensive ground handling services, ranging from passenger and ramp handling, to operations coordination and load control; all the way to station supervision and administration.
Swissport was awarded the ground handling servicing contract following a rigorous three-month tender process, during which the company convincingly demonstrated to Scoot its commitment to the highest industry standards and its thoroughly professional approach.
Arriving on the first Scoot flight being serviced by Swissport Saudi Arabia was the Chief Executive Officer of Scoot, Mr. Campbell Wilson who stated, “Swissport is globally recognized as a leader in the provision of ground services and we are excited about this partnership which comes in line with the commencement of our operations at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. We look forward to a long-term relationship and smooth operations.”
The Chief Executive Officer of Swissport Saudi Arabia, Mr. Thomas Bommer added, “Our new partnership with Scoot is a milestone for us, as it brings with it our officially entry into the promising ground handling market in Saudi Arabia.” Mr. Bommer added, “We look forward to a long term partnership with Scoot and will do our utmost to support them during the launch of their new route.”
