Sydney-Melbourne-Delhi Air India flight lands with cracked window shield at Melbourne

emergency landing 1A Sydney-Melbourne-Delhi Air India Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft had its cockpit window shield cracked minutes before landing  at Melbourne.


All the passengers are safe, and they have been sent via Hong Kong to Delhi from Melbourne when the technical defect was noticed as the Sydney-Melbourne-Delhi flight (flight AI 311) landed in Melbourne


The windshield crack was noticed, and the aircraft was grounded at Melbourne. A new windshield will be brought and fixed before the aircraft leaves Melbourne said the Air India Melbourne station manager. There were 176 passengers and 12 crew members aboard the aircraft.
This is the fifth or sixth such incident with the Air India Dreamliners in the last one a half months. Earlier, the Dreamliner aircraft’s fuselage panel fell off at Bangalore airport. There are nine Boeing-787 Dreamliners flying with Air India at the moment.

    A part / door / cover may have fallen off but the fuselage ? What’s left, just the wings and tail ?
