T. rex dinosaur in BerlinThe Museum of Natural History in Berlin has had a new visitor attraction: a Tyrannosaurus rex called Tristan Otto since last December. That is the name given to the museum’s dinosaur.

The skeleton of the dinosaur was only discovered in 2010 in Montana, a state in the north-west of the US, and is privately owned. The owner selected the Museum of Natural History in Berlin as the “perfect home for Tristan”.

Tristan is one of the most complete examples of a T. rex and is the only original skeleton in Europe. Experts consider the magnificent dinosaur to be a remarkable discovery.

The dinosaur is four metres high and over twelve metres long. The skull alone weighs over 180 kilograms!

You can find out why his bones are black and how many pieces make up the skeleton at the Tristan exhibition. There, you can delve deeper using an app or join one of the exciting guided tours.

The Museum of Natural History in Berlin attracts more than half a million visitors a year. It was also voted ‘Berlin’s Favourite 2015′ last year.

Come and see for yourself if it will be your favourite too!
