  • Powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake rocks Japan

    An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck southwestern Japan on a late Wednesday evening, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The seismic event occurred in the channel that separates the islands of Kyushu and Shikoku, approximately 18 kilometers west of Uwajima at a depth of 25 kilometers.
