More and more, Taiwan is turning into a preferred vacation destination among the Malaysians with an increased number of Malaysian tourists. Between January and July, 2017, Taiwan welcomed over 256,703 Malaysian visitors in comparison to 215,354 last year, as confirmed by Tony Wu, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau KL Office director at a press conference at Wisma MATTA.
Wu credited the 19.2% rise to Taiwan’s initiation to lure Muslim visitors from Malaysia.
“Taiwan has made a big effort to improve the travel environment for Muslim visitors,” he said.
Among Muslim tourists across the globe, Taiwan was positioned the seventh most popular non-OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) country in the world in the Mastercard-Crescentrating Muslim Global Travel Index 2017.
Wu further added that from now on Muslim visitors can download the Halal. Also, Taiwan app will help the Muslim travelers to locate the halal eateries easily in the country.
He enthused all Malaysians to take a hold of the cherry blooming season in Taiwan that starts from February till late March. “You don’t have to go to Japan for the cherry blossoms. We have it too in Taiwan,” said Wu.
For the second time at the forthcoming MATTA Fair at Putra World Trade Centre, Taiwan is being endorsed as one of the favorite destinations in Asia from Sept 8th -10th .
World Championship gold medallist Taiwan Cheerleading Team will showcase their performance and visitors will get to enjoy them.
