The Taj hotels listed among the 50 Best Hotels in the World include the captivating heritage Rambagh Palace, Jaipur built for a Maharani’s favourite handmaiden and once home to the revered Maharani Gayatri Devi. The ‘living’ palace Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur opened its gilded doors in 1943 and in its heyday was the largest private residence in the world. The current-day Maharaja Gaj Singh II still lives in a wing of this Art Deco architectural masterpiece, creating a truly unique sense of regal hospitality and service for guests. Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris also led the Top 20 Hotels in India list with seven Taj Hotels listed – the most hotels included from one singular brand. All three of the hotels in the 50 Best list ranked within the top five in India, followed by Taj’s iconic palaces: the ‘mirror in the sky’ of Hyderabad – Taj Falaknuma Palace; 270-year-old Taj Jai Mahal Palace, Jaipur set amidst landscaped Mughal gardens, a newcomer on the Best in India list; the world’s most recognizable residence, Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur; and Taj’s flagship hotel The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.
Five additional hotels by Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris were ranked among the top hotels across the UK, Africa, Asia, USA and the Middle East.
