The Air India flight 9604 took off from Allahabad with 53 people onboard, including 48 air passengers and five crew members.
The jet initially flew from Allahabad’s Bamrauli Airport around 2:48 pm local time. 14 minutes after the flight, the jet experienced technical snag and the pilot decided to return back to the airport.
The pilot of the flight managed to make a smooth emergency landing with all the passengers and the crew members onboard.
The airport director SR Mishra informed that At 14:54 hours, the pilot contacted the air traffic control and informed that something was amiss with the engine and it needed to make a landing at the airport immediately. He also informed that the passengers and the crew members were safe after the landing.
The airlines later refunded the passengers, who opted to cancel their tickets. Other passengers were sent to Varanasi via taxi arranged by the airline to catch another flight to Delhi.
