Technopolis 2015, the largest exhibition of art, science and technology in Latin America to this day, opened its fifth edition with record number of visitors to welcome more than 251,000 people during its first four days.
The information was provided by the organizers on the final hours of Sunday, and was spread by the news agency Telam and the MinutoUno service.
The fair, which was inaugurated by President Cristina Fernández on Thursday evening under the theme “Future Forever ‘, will have this year with over 78 spaces with multiple attractions, 16 artistic interventions and eight proposals in the open space to live art, science and to technology.
Since its start in 2011, Technopolis opens every July when the winter vacations begin, in its permanent headquarters of 60 hectares in the locality of Villa Martelli, adjacent to the capital. This year will be open until November.
Among the novelties for this season are new games and proposals so the public will lose the fear of the hard sciences. Mathematics and Physics occupy a privileged place this year. Newton’s Mountain, a fun ride that explains the great discoveries of this scientist, is incorporated.
The aquarium was renovated with new species from different seas and rivers of the world and a spectacular acrylic tunnel helps appreciate the fish. Dinos Land comes back with a complete tour of the time when dinosaurs dominated on the planet.
The New Challenge of Knowledge is a journey of learning for the whole family:
from the history of the heroes to the functioning of the media and the responsible use of social networks.
The 2015 edition also presents the possibility of living the ARSAT-1 experience, an interactive space dedicated to the first Argentinean telecommunications satellite.
The exhibition will also host the Children’s Book Fair, organized by The Book Foundation, in which live storytelling, reading aloud and interdisciplinary performances will be experienced.
Another novelty is the Nectar, a space that brings young people hip hop culture and urban sports.
