Telangana, the youngest state celebrated it’s first birthday on Tuesday – 2nd June, 2015 with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao beginning the day by paying tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial, he then proceeded to the Parade Grounds to unfurl the tri-color national flag which kicked off the state’s formation day celebrations.
Addressing a huge gathering after hoisting the national flag, Chief Minister promised 25,000 Government jobs and regularisation of services of contract workers. The government is said to be releasing a notification this month for filling up these 25,000 posts. The process of regularization of the contract employees will be done from the month of July, 2015 and it would be completed within one year.
Other big announcements made by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao:
The Palamuru lift irrigation project costing Rs 35,000 crore would be taken up to meet the drinking water requirements of Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts in the next one year.
He also informed that to mitigate the drought situation in Northen Telangana, they have proposed Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation scheme with an amount of Rs.30000 Crores that will also be laid.
The Chief Minister commented that Telangana would emerge as a power surplus state and 24 hours power would be supplied in Telangana State by 2018. To achieve this target and achieve self-sustainability in Power Sector 91 Thousand Crore investments are being made. As part of this foundation, stones were laid for Kottagudem and Manuguru Power Project the foundation stone would also be laid to Damaracheerla Power Project during June only which is biggest ultra Mega Power Project in the country.
Further to this the Chief Minister said that as assured the Government would soon fulfill its election promise of constructing over 50,000 houses for the poor at a cost of Rs 2,500 crore. 50000 double bedroom houses would be constructed during this year only.
He also informed that as part of Haritha Haram Programme 300 Crores Plants would be raised in the state, appealing all sections of the people to participate in Haritha Haram Programme. Under Mission Kakatiya Programme 46 Thousand Tanks would be restored in next forth coming 5 years. The CM said that Rs.28000 Crores will be spent for the welfare sector. The CM also said that under loan waiving Rs.17000 Crores loans of the Farmers will be waived off.
To maintain friendly relationship with employees 43% fitment was given and 44 % fitment also given to RTC Employees.
On problems and grievances related to police personnel, Rao said a committee headed by the DGP would be constituted to look into the issues. He said Rs 400 crore was sanctioned to the police department to procure vehicles and modern equipment.
The state government was committed to provide 12% reservations for the minorities, the Chief Minister said adding a committee was already in place and steps would be initiated based on the submission of reports by the concerned committees.
On this special occasion, various departments have also exhibited their tableaus. The Hyderabad Metro Rail has got best Tableau. Forest and RWS (Rural Water Supply) has got 2nd and third places respectively. Various Artists from 10 districts of Telangana has given their performances under “Saamskruithika Sarathi”. Besides this the police contingents has exhibited their remarkable March-past.
At the end, Chief Minister – Mr. Rao along with other eminent personalities like Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma, MPs, MLCs, and MLAs presented awards, memento and shawl to the persons who contributed their services to the society in various fields.
