A tent city will be built at Kangan Ghat in Patna for the large number of devotees expected to visit Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurdwara from January 11 to 13 next year for commemorating the 352nd birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh guru. The gurdwara premises will also be adorned with multi-coloured lights and other decorative materials for the occasion.

The tent city would accommodate around 5,000 people. Besides, an online registration procedure will be set up for allocating rooms in the tent city. The system would provide a seamless systematic method for bed allocation for avoiding mismanagement at the venue.
The tents will have comfortable beddings along with other facilities like night lights, heaters, charging points, mirrors and adequate number of washrooms. The tent city will also have VIP waiting areas with attached toilets, office centre with attached toilets, control room with CCTV cameras, parking lots and joda ghars (place to keep shoes), among others.

The tent city will also have community kitchen, managed by Takhat Harmandir Ji Prabandhak Committee.

“The tent city is to be ready by January 5 and it can be booked by the Sikh pilgrims from outside Bihar. We are expecting pilgrims from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra among other states to participate in the auspicious event in large numbers,” said an official of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC).
