Thailand celebrates International Mother’s Day with special campaign for women

Tourism Authority of ThailandJust in time for International Mother’s Day, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a special campaign to underscore its appeal local and international women travellers. The tourism board is putting out special offers and discounts targeted at women, whether travelling alone or with groups of friends, for travel during the month of August.

“In order to inspire women travellers to come to Thailand, TAT has come up with five different promotional concepts: Beautiful Look, Beautiful Shape, Beautiful Mind, Beautiful Retreat, and Beautiful Experience, all designed to meet the varied needs of women travellers and to boost Thai tourism products and services that are geared towards female travellers.” Mrs. Srisuda Wanapinyosak, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing Asia and South Pacific, added.

The Beautiful Look component refers to invasive and non-invasive beauty treatments; Beautiful Shape refers to fitness and weightloss programmes; Beautiful Mind refers to wellness and meditation programmes that women could indulge in; Beautiful Retreat refers to Thailand’s wealth of amazing escapes and wellness retreats and Beautiful Experience refers to adventures in the lap of nature whether by the beach or the forest or in Thailand’s culturally steeped ramparts.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said, “We’ve designated August 2016 as a ‘month for women travellers’. It is our way of marking Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 84th birthday while encouraging the growth of the global and domestic women traveller segment in conjunction with our strategy to promote Thailand to be a Quality Leisure Destination. Increasingly women are coming to Thailand in groups or as solo travellers and expect to find activities and attractions geared to their needs. This campaign will underscore Thailand’s capabilities in offering a truly amazing experience to women travellers like nowhere else.”

Research has shown that women travellers enjoy visiting the beach, benefitting from Thailand’s amazing spa opportunities and trying Thai food, but they are perhaps more concerned with safety and privacy than male travellers. With this in mind, TAT is joining forces with airlines, hotels, resorts, spas and tour operators to arrange various activities as well as offer special discounts and privileges throughout the month of August. Various other special arrangements are being provided to female travellers in this month; such as, Lady Immigration Lanes, Lady Parking and Lady Airfare.
