Tourism industry in Thailand is expected to see a steep rise in the number of footfall of Russian tourists in 2016, most precisely a million.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) predicted that the number of Russian tourists in Thailand is going to see a hike of 1million this year. The value of Rouble experienced a sudden surge which was resulted by an upsurge in oil prices. Thus, TAT foretold that the industry is going to see a 13% increase in the number of Russian visitors in comparison to the number of visitors in 2015.
The number began to ascend during February, and March measured a steady rise in the graph.
During 2014, the arrival of Russians in Thailand saw a drop of 1.6 million than 2013. According to a market survey, the Russians tend to spend way more money than tourists from any other corner of the world. In 2013, on an average, Russian visitors spent 3800 Baht per head, per day. That is the exact reason why, the entire tourism industry is rejoicing after hearing the forecast given by TAT.

Though Phuket has always been the most preferred destination for these tourists, some are being a little more open to visit lesser known places like Krabi province and Khao Lak near Phangnga province.
If this influx continues, Thailand is unquestionably going to see a 55% percent proportional growth in quality Russian sightseers by the end of 2017.
