Thailand tourism was one of the successful highlights at the International Travel Expo (ITE) 2016 Hong Kong that was held from the 16th to 19th June, 2016. It offered a firm launch-pad to Thailand tourism, making it an attractive tourist locale among the residents of Hong Kong.
The Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Hong Kong office, Mrs. Titiporn Maneenate said that Hong Kong was a significant contributor to Thailand’s tourism industry, offering it a large amount of visitors every year. She added that the participation of TAT in ITE laid emphasis on the natural splendor, traditional culture and a wide variety of interesting activities like shopping, spa, soft-adventures as well as medical tourism. The aim of TAT’s participation, according to Maneenate was to ensure Thailand impresses Hong Kong residents with its diverse tourist locales.
In this event, TAT demonstrated the different tourist offerings of Thailand including Bangkok’s Muah Thai camps and the processes of creating Thai handicrafts and arts like paper umbrella painting. TAT also offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy short sessions of Thai spa and taste some popular Thai dishes.
