As per the report of Neos Kosmos, Greece had its presence felt at the 10th National Travel Industry Awards on Saturday which was hosted at the International Convention Centre located in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
Over 2,000 industry professionals were found attending the ‘Gala Dinner’ night. Jayson Westbury, the Australian Federation of Travel Agents said, “Long live the travel agent,” while greeting the invitees to the leading event of the industry. The event identifies and rewards excellence in the Australian travel industry.
Rickie-Lee, the American vocalist, songwriter and musician put up an entertaining show at the AFTA NTIA along with a group of traditional dancers from the Hellenic Lyceum of Sydney. Mr Westbury said that this initiation was part of a special celebration of Greece as a “fantastic tourist destination, that any Australian should visit,” explaining that over 30 million tourists will visit Greece in the coming 12 months, the Neos Kosmos report says.
“We are very happy to be part of this significant event,” said Dr. Stavros Kyrimis, Greece’s Consul-General in Sydney. “Greece is a small country with a big embrace.”
