Julio Bravo, the CEO of AgroBravo Viagens Corporativas, is all set in making agro-tourism uncomplicated.
The concluding days of August found him heading 150 farmers from the Bahia, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goias and Pauiand Paui areas of Brazil through the Quad-Cities, specifically Moline.
“I have five groups staying here this week and five assistants to help things run smoothly,” he said.
“The group members on this trip are major John Deere customers,” Bravo said. “So, among other places, they have visited John Deere World headquarters, Harvester, Waterloo and Des Moines works, the Farm Progress Show (in Boone, Iowa) and a variety of farming operations.”
Iguacu Maquinar, a 27-year-old John Deere dealership with amenities in three Brazilian states, planned the tour. The company provides a diversity of opportunities related to large farmers to learn about the John Deere label and witness core values familiar to farming families.
To Brazilians, Midwest agricultural tours are of immense interest, Bravo said because there, agriculture is a big business. Characteristically, Brazilian agro tourism trips starts or ends with recreation and sightseeing in places like Chicago, New York, Florida, San Francisco or Las Vegas. However, the maximum of the time is spent in the Midwest, comparing agricultural practices, technology and entrepreneurship.
