The Department of Tourism of Kashmir is all set to promote the state as a complete golfing circuit to the world. It’s launching golf packages to attract golfers from every corner of India as well as other countries. In this context on Wednesday, Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary Tourism headed a meeting at Royal Springs Golf Course in order to do an evaluation of the functioning of golf courses particularly, RSGC, as expressed in an official press note.
As per the press note, to make the experience of the golfers better, professional training will be provided to the caddies for maintaining professionalism as well as discipline within the course. In addition, the courses would be maintained time to time.
Various problems were discussed in terms of the functioning and other maintenance operations of RSGC.
Managing Director J&K Golf Development and Management Authority (GDMA) Ghalib Mohiuddin Shah provided a comprehensive presentation in terms of the status and ongoing developmental works at RSGC.
Secretary Tourism also said that the operation of RSGC should be additionally improved so that the golfers get fine experience at the course, the press note read.
He further expressed that the drive in terms of cleanliness will be conducted at the course on a regular basis.
Also, the secretary tourism made sure the support to the golf association in organizing golf tournaments and wooing golfers to the state. “We have world class golf courses which can attract golfers from across the world. If we tap golf tourism, we are attracting high-spending tourists,” said secretary tourism.
