Mathers is one among five other individuals and organizations identified by Governor Dannel P. Malloy and officials from the Connecticut Office of Tourism because of their exceptional contributions in terms of Connecticut’s $14.7 billion tourism sector at the annual Connecticut Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
To quote Gov. Malloy, “Tourism does more than contribute to our excellent quality of life in Connecticut; it also drives our economy by generating sales, tax revenues and creating jobs. Our investments in tourism have literally put Connecticut back on the map, and are producing real, tangible results. It’s an honor to celebrate the people and organizations that have dedicated significant time and energy to ensure the tourism sector remains vibrant.”
Mathers is known as an important industry leader dedicated in making the beautiful Connecticut beach a must-visit for state visitors as well as outside by offering the best customer experience possible.
Ever since the opening in 2012, and the hotel under Mathers’ leadership for the last six years, have been honored two of the industry’s highest honors: AAA’s 4 Diamond Rating and Hilton Hotel’s very prestigious “Connie Award.” The Connie is awarded to the Curio Hotel – collection by Hilton property that balances the product with wonderful service scores. The hotel that wins this award exemplifies Conrad Hilton’s wish of spreading the light and warmth of hospitality and living Hilton’s shared values.
